James Mugo appointed ICT executive at Weetabix East Africa

Prior to his appointment, James Mugo served as IT manager at Tropikal Brands Afrika, where he led ERP upgrades, sales force automation, production process automation, and cybersecurity enhancements.

James Mugo has been appointed ICT Executive at Weetabix East Africa.

James brings to the role over a decade of experience in ICT leadership, systems integration, and digital transformation across media, manufacturing, and FMCG. His career reflects a strong track record in enterprise IT strategy, infrastructure management, and aligning technology with business growth.

Prior to his appointment, James served as IT manager at Tropikal Brands Afrika Ltd, where he led major projects including an ERP system upgrade, sales force automation integration, production process automation, cloud solutions deployment, and enhanced cybersecurity frameworks. Earlier, he spent seven years as ICT administrator at Capital FM Kenya, where he oversaw IT infrastructure and broadcast systems, resolved critical frequency interference challenges, and drove compliance with broadcasting regulations. He began his career at Spans Ventures as a lead technician, designing and implementing IT solutions for client projects.

In his current role at Weetabix East Africa, James is responsible for ensuring systems comply with global policies and regional regulations. He has spearheaded the integration of the East Africa subsidiary into Weetabix UK’s Microsoft Dynamics ERP, championed ISO recertification and data protection compliance, consolidated service providers to improve efficiency and cost savings, and introduced AI integration for sales entry and data analysis.

James holds a BSc in Information Technology and a Diploma in Information Technology, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
