Dr Leah Miano is the head of information and communication technology at Universities Fund.

She leads the organisation’s ICT strategy and digital transformation agenda, overseeing enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity and technology governance.

Since joining Universities Fund in July 2022, Leah has led the development and execution of a five-year ICT strategic plan and contributed to the implementation of the national funding model for universities.

Prior to this role, Leah served as head of ICT at the International Peace Support Training Centre, where she led ICT operations and strategic technology projects. She oversaw the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks and major digital systems, including Microsoft 365 and enterprise resource planning platforms.

Earlier in her career, Leah worked as a senior database administrator at Britam, supporting mission-critical insurance systems. She also served as a systems administrator at Benchmark Distributors and began her professional journey as an ICT assistant at Shelter Afrique.

Leah holds a doctor of philosophy in strategic management from Kenya Methodist University. She also earned a master of business administration in strategic management and finance from Daystar University, a bachelor of science in software engineering from Kenyatta University and a diploma in Oracle from the Institute of Software Technologies.
