Clement Muhire is the director of IT at University of Global Health Equity.
He leads the institution’s overall technology strategy, overseeing the design, implementation and management of secure and scalable IT infrastructure that supports academic, research and administrative operations. His responsibilities include network architecture, systems administration, cybersecurity, and the delivery of reliable digital services across the university’s campuses.
Clement has been part of the University of Global Health Equity for over seven years, initially serving as an IT specialist before his elevation to director of IT.
Prior to joining the university, Clement worked as an IT specialist at Aegis Trust at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. In this role, he was responsible for managing network infrastructure and secure server environments, further strengthening his expertise in enterprise IT systems and cybersecurity.
Earlier in his career, Clement served as a teacher at Kigali Health Institute, where he contributed to the development of technical knowledge among students. He also worked as a researcher at Southwest Jiaotong University, focusing on applied data mining technologies and advanced recommendation systems, experience that broadened his analytical and research capabilities.
Clement’s academic background reflects a strong foundation in computer science and technology. He holds a master’s degree in computer technology from Southwest Jiaotong University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the National University of Rwanda. Complementing his formal education, he has earned several professional certifications, including Oracle Certified Associate, CompTIA Linux+, and full Cisco CCNA and CCNP credentials, underscoring his commitment to continuous professional development.
