Henny brings more than 25 years of progressive senior and executive leadership experience spanning technology, logistics, financial services and corporate environments.

Henny Schlebusch has been appointed IT director at GardaWorld Security – Africa.

In his new role, Henny will oversee IT strategy, infrastructure, systems and service delivery across GardaWorld Security – Africa’s operations. The appointment reinforces GardaWorld Security – Africa’s commitment to investing in technology, strengthening its digital capabilities and leveraging innovation to support its people, operations and clients across the region.

On his part, Henny says he was drawn to the role because he wanted an opportunity where technology has a direct and measurable impact on the business rather than supporting from the sidelines.

“GardaWorld Security – Africa offered exactly that. It is an organisation with a strong operational footprint, an ambitious growth agenda and a clear opportunity to use technology as a strategic enabler across a diverse and complex continent,” he says.

He is especially looking forward to helping shape a technology and security ecosystem that connects intelligence, systems and operations even more effectively.

“In our environment, technology is not just about infrastructure or applications; it can directly influence how quickly we identify risk, how effectively we respond and how we protect people, assets and operations.”

Henny is also excited by the unique technology landscape Africa presents, as GardaWorld Security – Africa operates across markets with different levels of maturity and infrastructure environments.

“Our solutions have to be resilient, scalable and practical. Alongside my colleagues, I am particularly excited about further strengthening our digital foundations while exploring areas such as integrated security platforms, data and analytics, automation, AI, edge technologies and modern command-and-control capabilities.”

Before joining GardaWorld Security – Africa, Henny was the global IT director at Rhenus Air and Ocean. In the past, he has also held IT leadership roles at FNB South Africa, C. Steinweg and Genasys Technologies among others.

He holds an MBA in artificial intelligence from the University of Cumbria, a BCom degree from Regent Business School and a higher certificate in information technology: computer programming from Richfield Graduate School of Technology.
