Peter Mukuru is the director of business technology at Uganda Development Bank.
He joined the bank from the African Development Bank, where he was a project management consultant from March 2021 to February 2026.
Before that, Peter was senior information technology consultant at TraceCorp Solutions in Nigeria. Prior to that, he had been the director of information technology at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), where he sat on the executive management committee and led the digitisation of Uganda's national statistical system. He joined UBOS from the Uganda Communications Commission where he was head of IT services between May 2013 and May 2017.
Earlier in his career, Peter spent more than a decade at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, where he rose from IT support officer in January 2001 to senior manager of information technology in July 2009 and held the role until May 2013. In between, Peter also worked as an assistant systems administrator at PwC from March to November 2002.
He holds an executive MBA from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute, a Master’s degree in IT from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and statistics from Makerere University.
