Manav Mengi is the group head of the system development centre at Diamond Trust Bank.
He leads the bank’s group-wide technology strategy, aligning IT investments with business growth and operational efficiency across multiple subsidiaries.
Prior to this role, Manav served as chief information and digital officer at Diamond Trust Bank Uganda. He was responsible for leading the bank’s IT and digital strategy, overseeing enterprise-wide transformation programmes and strengthening cybersecurity and risk management frameworks.
Earlier, he held the position of chief information officer at the same institution, where he defined and executed enterprise IT strategy aligned to business objectives. His responsibilities included IT governance, enterprise architecture and cybersecurity, alongside leading cloud transformation and modern platform adoption.
Manav spent over a decade at I&M Bank, where he held several senior roles. As head of enterprise digital solutioning engineering, he led digital transformation initiatives across multiple countries, overseeing core banking systems, digital channels, data analytics and integration platforms.
Between 2017 and 2020, he served as head of enterprise banking applications, spearheading the modernisation of core systems and digital banking platforms, including cloud migration and API integration. Earlier, as manager for business coordination and IT projects, he oversaw the development and support of critical banking systems, including core banking, treasury, mobile and internet banking platforms.
He began his career in technology consulting roles at Oracle Financial Services Software and Best of Breed Software Solutions, where he specialised in core banking systems, integrations and solution delivery.
