Kiprono Rugut is the chief information security officer (CISO) at Adili Group
Kiprono has spent close to two decades of his career in network operations, cybersecurity, and digital risk advisory across banking, insurance, healthcare, and professional services organizations in Kenya and across East and Central Africa.
His journey started in 2006 as a volunteer English teacher at Neema Children's Home, before moving into software development at Kenex in 2007. He rose through network engineering and Swift support roles at Kenex then joined ALN Kenya in 2014, progressing from network and security administrator through deputy IT manager to IT manager. He was appointed CISO at ALN Kenya in 2024 before moving to Adili Group in 2025 still in the same capacity.
Kiprono holds an MSc in Information Systems Management from the University of Roehampton, a BSc in International Business Administration from United States International University, and a Diploma in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University.
Kiprono is also a Certified ISO 27001 lead implementer, a Microsoft certified Azure Data Fundamentals holder, an SMB engineer, and a member of the association of certified fraud examiners (CFE).
