Kimathi Marangu is the head of ICT at Bimas Kenya, a microfinance institution in Kenya.
He began his professional journey in 2009 as an ICT officer at ECLOF Kenya Microfinance before moving to Sisdo Microfinance as an IT infrastructure and security officer. In 2012, he was appointed ICT manager at Sisdo, a role he held for three years, during which he spearheaded transformative technology initiatives that earned the institution top recognition in the CIO100 Awards. In 2015, he joined Bimas Kenya as head of ICT, where he continues to drive the institution’s digital transformation agenda and position it at the forefront of technology-driven financial services.
Kimathi holds a BSc in information technology and an MSc in computer systems from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He is also certified in information systems solutions, information systems security and IT service management (ITIL).
