Kennedy Njenga is the head of information technology at Fresh Del Monte Kenya.
He joined the company in July 2023 and is responsible for IT operations across all locations in the country. His role covers systems reliability, cybersecurity, governance and ensuring that technology supports the company’s business objectives.
Before joining Fresh Del Monte, Kennedy spent more than eight years at Cornichecorp Digital Solutions, where he held several senior technology leadership roles across East Africa. From January 2017 to June 2023, he served as head of information technology, overseeing enterprise IT operations, systems architecture, cybersecurity and capacity planning.
Earlier, between December 2014 and December 2016, Kennedy was digital transformation manager at Cornichecorp Digital Solutions. He led multi-disciplinary teams delivering digital transformation initiatives, developed digital roadmaps and guided the adoption of agile methodologies, cloud platforms and open-source technologies to improve service delivery and customer experience.
Kennedy has also worked internationally in the energy sector. He served as head of IT operations at Qatar Petroleum International, where he oversaw IT service delivery across multiple global locations and strengthened operational controls and service performance.
Before this, he spent more than a decade at Tata Chemicals Magadi, progressing through several technical and leadership roles. As IT infrastructure manager, he was responsible for ICT strategy, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, ERP systems, budgeting and infrastructure integration. Earlier roles included network administrator, where he managed enterprise networks, servers, security controls and high-availability systems.
He began his career as an IT systems engineer, providing systems administration and user support, configuring hardware and software, and managing data backup processes. This early technical grounding laid the foundation for his progression into senior technology leadership roles.
