Isaac Mwangi is the group head of ICT at Unga Group.
He is responsible for shaping and executing the group’s ICT strategy, with a focus on strengthening enterprise systems, securing infrastructure and supporting business performance through technology.
Before joining Unga Group, Isaac worked at Miradi Capital where he focused on developing technology-led business solutions and supporting innovation initiatives. His work centred on linking technology strategy to measurable business outcomes, particularly in areas of profitability and operational improvement.
Earlier, he served as general manager for ICT strategy development at Toyota Tsusho East Africa. He led the design and execution of ICT strategies across multiple group companies in the region, while also supporting business development teams in identifying and incubating technology-driven opportunities.
He also held the position of head of ICT strategy at Toyota Kenya, where he focused on using technology to support regional growth and improve operational alignment. Prior to that, he was SAP practice head at Techno Brain, leading presales efforts across more than 17 African countries and building out the organisation’s SAP capability.
Isaac’s earlier leadership experience includes serving as general manager ICT at Rift Valley Railways, where he oversaw ICT operations across Kenya and Uganda, and as IT manager at Toyota Kenya.
He began his career in hands-on SAP roles, including as ICT officer at Kenya Pipeline Company, and as systems analyst at KenGen.
