Dan Wachira

Dan Wachira is the head of ICT at HighChem group of companies.

Since assuming the position in 2014, Dan has led the management of a diverse technology ecosystem that includes SYSPRO ERP, SAGE 300 People HRMS, Palo Alto firewalls, IP-PBX communication systems, Veeam backup solutions and Hikvision CCTV monitoring. He also oversees Microsoft SQL Server environments, Windows Server administration, Cisco network infrastructure and access control systems, while ensuring effective IT service management through tools such as Spiceworks, PRTG Network Monitor and Snipe-It asset management.

Dan’s journey with HighChem began earlier as an IT intern, where he provided technical support and gained practical experience in enterprise IT operations. Between these roles, he worked as a web developer at iWave Kenya, focusing on web design and development and strengthening his technical foundation.

He also held early-career support roles that shaped his understanding of organisational operations. As a lab assistant at Daystar University, he provided IT support services, while his role as a registration clerk at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital involved managing patient records, scheduling appointments and retrieving files.

Dan holds a bachelor of science in business information technology from Strathmore University.
